This course if for people who sing in choirs or want to learn to play an instrument but don’t understand how to read music. Music notation is a language just like English or French, but it is so much simpler and easy to learn. Once you learn to read music a whole new world of possibilities will open up for you in singing or playing music. Please bring a pencil, eraser, and small music notation notebook, available from Blue Sound Music on 1st St. in Langley. In this course we will cover the basics of the language of music and practice applying what we learn. The class will be dynamic and you’ll learn by doing. After this four session class you will have a basic understanding of the language of music and be able to read uncomplicated music. Peggy Taylor is a choral director, musician, author and social entrepreneur. She plays piano and folk harp. She received a Masters of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge MA with a specialty in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, a holistic way of learning and teaching music.
