Do you have some basic experience playing ukulele and want to learn more? Or perhaps you’ve put your uke down and want to get started again? This class is for people who have a basic knowledge of uke playing–how to hold and tune your instrument, play some basic chords, and know how to play along with some easy songs. (Anyone who attended the beginner’s class at Create Space in May or October qualifies.) It’s also for people of any experience who want to play along with a group. This class will keep you motivated and engage you fully in the fun of playing songs with a group of players. In each session we will do skill building with a special focus on playing songs. It’s highly recommended to buy The Daily Ukulele book ($30 from Amazon) if you are able. Also bring a music stand, ukulele, and tuner (if you have one). David Licastro is a celebrated local musician who has been teaching private music lessons and classes since the age of 17. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar from California State University Sacramento in 1979. After moving to Whidbey Island in 1980, David has performed in various musicals and groups including the Secrets, Western Heroes, Deja Blooze and Pete. He is currently teaching private music lessons at Blue Sound.
