Beginners Water Color Class

Mondays, 9-11 am January 13, 20 & 27.

Serious about learning watercolor? Here’s a class for beginning beginners! In a small group you will learn watercolor basics: How to mix colors. Which brushes to use for a specific purpose. How to create smooth washes for skies & backgrounds. There will be homework so you will need to commit to the process. However, you will learn the joyful experience of watercolor flow and letting this fantastic medium do its magic in your art work. A materials $25 fee, for items to set you up for success, is required. Additional items to purchase will enhance your experience. If you already have any watercolor supplies, please bring those to the first class. You will need to take notes, so bring a small notebook or mixed media spiral sketch pad too. This class will set you up to enter Ellen’s watercolor for beginners and novices class. Space is limited to 8 students so register for this fun adventure now!! Ellen Santoni has been making art for as long as she can remember. She has a BFA in illustration. After college she had a 42-year career in marketing and advertising. Four years ago, she moved to Whidbey Island and restarted her journey with art. Watercolor is her chosen medium and her only medium. She says: “I love the unpredictability, the way the colors mix and blur, and the fluidity of the process. Ellen is a member of Whidbey Island Sketchers and Bellingham Sketchers, and she takes classes at Create Space and with local artists.

Please pay $30 by the first class and pay the full $30 even if you are going to miss a class.
