BOOKMAKING: MAKING BOOKS USING THE SPRING FLOWER AND BUTTERFLY STITCHES
With Claudia Fuller
Butterfly Stitch Class: Thursday, February 16, 1 to 4 pm
Spring Flower Stitch Class: February 23, 2023
(You need to sign up for each class separately)

After leading several very successful bookmaking classes at Create Space, Claudia Fuller is now going to teach two new ways to make exquisite journals for water color, writing, scrapbooking and other purposes. Participants will learn to make Butterfly Stitch Bindings and Spring Flower Stitch Bindings. No previous experience is required for the Butterfly Stitch Class. You need to have attended a previous class by Claudia or know how to make signatures (sets of paper) for a journal in order to take the Spring Flower Class. Claudia teaches with a clarity and enthusiasm that makes learning new skills very easy. Due to the process required, this class will take place in two 3-hour sessions. These books can be made with any type of paper with card stock or watercolor paper for covers. You can also use thick handmade paper, leather, and maybe even felt for the covers.

Claudia Fuller is a mixed media artist who has always enjoyed creating artful items. Ten years ago, she made her first book and hasn’t stopped since. She makes books for gifts and she makes books to fill with her art making. She uses watercolor papers, book board and book cloth for some journals and recycled boxes and cardboard for others. Filling books with painting, calligraphy, quotes and memories is how she documents her life.
