Hands-on photo coaching can be transformative as you learn to notice the nuances of light and compose for impact — intentionally making, versus taking, photos. You’ll be encouraged to experiment and discover new ways of seeing and photographing, and continually develop your creative vision.
Most of each day will be devoted to outdoor photography. There will be opportunities to capture intimate and majestic landscapes, create portraits on location, build action photography skills, and dive into the playful and powerful world of intentional camera movement (ICM).
In daily presentations, John and Lisa will share tips and techniques to help you master the technical and artistic sides of travel photography. You’ll explore compelling compositions, landscape, food, architectural and street photography, and the effective use of flash and reflectors, continually expanding your visual toolbox.
Presentations, discussions and image reviews will take place in the Pacific NorthWest Art School’s classroom. Each participant will have a one-on-one meeting with John or Lisa to review Whidbey images, along with up to 20 images from a previous trip. Group image reviews will provide additional feedback, encouragement and inspiration.
