Kathleen Frugé Brown & Don Wodjenski at Rob Schouten Gallery

May 29 @ 11:00 am - July 1 @ 5:00 pm

Rob Schouten Gallery & Sculpture Garden presents
Kathleen Frugé Brown, batik paintings on silk
Don Wodjenski, Form and Reveal – turned wood

Kathleen Frugé Brown’s oil paintings portray the wildness of rivers and forests of the Pacific Northwest. Many of her paintings are done plein-air, some are finished in the studio. “One of the things about painting in the woods is the layers of things to see. The spatial complexity makes me look deeply and work vigorously to capture what I can before the light changes.”

Don Wodjenski is a woodturner who uses a variety of local and ethically sourced exotic woods to create bowls, platters and vases that often incorporate inlays of turquoise, malachite, lapis or gold, in a manner akin to the Japanese kintsugi tradition of fixing flaws and cracks in ceramics. Charring and burn piercings also add decorative elements.

We hope you can come by and enjoy the beauty!

Rob Schouten Gallery, a premier showcase for Whidbey Island and Northwest artists, is located at 101 Anthes Avenue, Langley WA at the corner of First and Anthes. Gallery hours: Weekends and Weekdays 11 – 5; Tuesdays by Appointment.
