Sculpture for the Body explores the manipulation of the surface of a garment; building up organic shaping that alters the structural lines, beautifully, dynamically and unexpectedly. We’ll create highly wearable art pieces that can be gathered, folded, pleated, shaped and layered using embedded cords, rings, tapes and ties. These pieces are made to be adjusted, to suit your style sense on any day or for any event. They are always comfortable, flattering and unique. We explore inks and paints for printing and drawing on textiles to individualize your garments as well as seamless garment construction while making a design of the participant’s choice- tops, tunics, skirts and pants are all options. Samples in a range if sizes will be available to try on at the beginning of the class, to help you decide on your project.
